    Annie Get Your Gun
    is a musical based ona book by Dorothy Fields and her brother Herbert Fields. The story is afictionalized version of the life of Annie Oakley (1860–1926), a sharpshooterwho starred in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show, and her romance with sharpshooterFrank E. Butler.
    The 1946 Broadway production was a hit, and the musical hadlong runs in both New York (1,147 performances) and London, spawning revivals,a 1950 film version and television versions. Songs that became hitsinclude “There’s No Business Like Show Business”, “Doin What Comes Naturally” “YouCan’t Get a Man with a Gun”, “Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)”.
    Mary Virginia Martin
    (December 1, 1913 – November 3, 1990) was an Americanactress and singer. A muse of Rogers and Hammerstein, , she originated manyleading roles on stage over her career, including Nellie Forbush in SouthPacific (1949), the title character in Peter Pan (1954), and Mariavon Trapp in The Sound of Music (1959). She was the mother of actor LarryHagman.
