Vintage c1909 Mitchella Compound Tablets box (empty).  Top reads:  Recommended by mothers and grandmothers for conditions they are intended to help from 14 years to old age.  Have been sold and used for over sixty years.  On the bottom it reads:  A vegetable compound which for over 60 years has been found a splendid tonic by women.  A soothing preparation  - an appetizer and an astringent.  Contains no opiates nor habit forming drugs.  60 Tablets, .00 per box, 6 Boxes for .00.  Dr. J.H. Dye Medical Institue, Buffalo, NY.  Dye was considered a quack during his time period by the medical establishment who preyed on expectant women and capitalized on "women's complaints." Nice condition with some aging/fading. Measures 3 1/4 x 2 x 7/8 inches.
