    Description

    This is a rare souvenir program (with an original ticket stub) from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the MILES MANDER, FRED SCHILLER and THOMAS DUNPHY comedy "COME ON UP" at the American Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. (The production toured cross-country, opening May 20th, 1946 at the Oakland Auditorium in Oakland, California and closing February 22nd, 1947 at the Biltmore Theatre in Los Angeles, failing to arrive on Broadway.) ..... The play starred the legendary MAE WEST and featured CHARLES LA TORRE, ROBERT TAFUR, JOHN DOUCETTE, TOD ANDREWS, CLEO DESMOND, ROY GORDON, TOM DeGRAFFENRIED, FRANCESCA ROTOLI, JOE McTURK, PHILIP RUSSELL, ALLAN NIXON, LEONARD MARVIN, DON HARVEY, WILLIS CLAIRE, JOHN ANTON, JOHN HAMPTON, SCOTT DAVIS, GEORGE SPELVIN and ROBERT LONG ..... DETAILS: The oversized twenty page program measures 8 1/2" X 11" inches and includes production credits, several pages of photos and a bio of MAE WEST, promotional text and reprinted reviews from her West Coast engagements. Also includes ticket stubs from the December 29th, 1946 performance and from George S. Edick's Roaring 20's Theatre Club stapled inside the back cover ..... CONDITION: With the exception of the date written on the cover and minor edge wear, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
