Rare Antique Cast Iron Apothecary Druggist Pharmacy Figural Alligator Cork Press

Just out of a local smoke free house is this original antique cast iron figural alligator cork press. It was used in apothecaries, pharmacies or by druggists to press corks of different sizes to compress the corks to fit into their bottles. These cork presses were used in the later 1800's and the early 1900's. The press measures about 11 inches long, about 4 3/8 inches at its widest, and about 4 1/4 inches high. The press has four screw holes to mount on the pharmacy counter. It is in good condition with some slight oxidation. See photos as they are part of the description.
