If you perform the test as described in the document, and the light flashes but the remote does not activate your device, you either bought the wrong remote control

the sensor in your device is not working.
NEITHER OF THESE ISSUES QUALIFIES AS "DAMAGED/NOT WORKING" or "NOT AS DESCRIBED
