Designed with the help from renowned drummer Akira Jimbo, the K Custom Hybrid models combine the un-lathed, brilliant finish on the inner half with the traditionally finished K Zildjian lathing on the outer half. This results in the possibility of two different sound dynamics depending on where the cymbal is played. Additionally, the un-lathed section helps to control the wash and sustain, rendering them ideal for recording sessions and live situations. This all inclusive pack gives you everything you’ll need right out of the box.

The ride is a medium weight and is extremely versatile. Not only does it have a strong, piercing bell but due to the lathed exterior it is extremely crashable. Perfect for heavier parts or big endings this cymbal is warm, rich and robust.
K Custom 17" Hybrid Crash
The crash is very thin yet still has a resound loudness and cut to it that is reminiscent of many heavier cymbals. This is definitely due to the un-lathed section in the center of the cymbal.
K Custom 14-1/4" Hybrid Hi-hats
The hi-hats are what are particularly interesting about this box set. These cymbals aren’t your typical 13, 14, or even 15" set of hats. These 14-1/4" are as unique in sound as they are in size. The extra ¼” in diameter helps give these cymbals a fuller sound with a more pronounced chick and wash without being too overbearing. They have the same crisp, sharp, pronounced feel and sound you’d expect from a 14”, just with a little something extra.
